Abortion

Ok, so since this blog seems dead, maybe a good ol’ standby discussion about one of the most controversial issues in the country can revive it.

All aspects of abortion: Legality, morality, government sponsorship, the whole shebang. If this doesn’t bring the board back to life, nothing can.

Hit it with your best shot. Do it. I dare you.

perhaps you need to actually offer an opinion rather than just vaguely offer a contentious topic and hope for some comments action…
rather than reiterate what i have said on this topic I offer this link http://iainhall.wordpress.com/category/abortion/ to my post’s on the topic.

Personal opinions are generally left out of the initial topic posting in the hopes of offering a neutral jumping off point in order for people to voice their own opinions first and then others reply on them.

And it’s kind of hard to post your own opinion when you’re torn between the two polar opposite standpoints because you see the benefits and drawbacks of both.

Well, I might as well get this started, then. Aside from the moral rationale, I don’t think government has the right to tell a women she can’t get an abortion. It’s her body, and I don’t think it is ethical for anyone else to tell her what to do about it.

By taking away a women’s rights to her own person, it doesn’t somehow justify the moral good that is accomplished.

Thats the way I see it.

    Yeah,

While I find the idea a bit abhorrent personally, it’s not my place to impose my own moral BELIEFS on others in society. Government should respect people’s inherent freedom of choice.

    Thanks,
    Paul
